A continuation of a public hearing on the city’s rainwater management code and a discussion on whether the council should continue to meet virtually in the face of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic are among the items on the Edmonds City Council’s virtual agenda on Tuesday 28 September.
The council will also hear the annual report of the Citizens Economic Development Commission.
As for the rainwater code update, the city’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) approval with the Washington Department of Ecology requires the city to adhere to an appropriate rainwater management code for new developments to protect surface water . Every five-year cycle of approval requires an update of the city code to stay in line with the most current guidelines from the Ecology Department. More information on the proposed code changes can be found here. The council had a public hearing on the matter last week but decided to continue to give residents more time to deliberate.
The council is also scheduled for September 28th to discuss:
– Proposed changes to the September 2021 budget
– An update on the Highway 99 Gateway Signs project
