The nightmare before Christmas
Watch Tim Burtons’ 27th annual presentationThe nightmare before Christmas’ shown in 3D with interactive 4D sensory effects. El Capitan guests can also delight before and after the show with photo wallpapers and props from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” as well as special concession items. Carved in Descanso Gardens
Carved is a family-friendly event for all ages. For three weeks in October, thousands of carved pumpkins will line a mile (1.6 km) walk through Camellia Forest and Oak Grove. In addition to pumpkins, there are exciting new oversized sculptures made from sticks and other natural materials. Pumpkin carving demonstrations, the popular pumpkin house, a hay maze and themed food and drinks create a fun harvest festival atmosphere. Fri-Sun Event details.
Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch
Founded in 1987, Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch provides a spooky, fun environment for families in the Los Angeles area, complete with pumpkin carvings, straw mazes, face painting and more. Boo on the LA Zoo Returns
Los Angeles Zoo is going wild this October with Boo’s return to the LA Zoo, with Halloween decor, a spooky stroll with photo ops, a cemetery for extinct animals, and other weird and wacky facts and educational opportunities. Weekends include special animal feedings, happy, non-scary entertainment, takeaway crafts, and trick or treat candy stations dotted around the zoo on the last two weekends of October. This unique seasonal pavilion gives you a rare glimpse into the secret life of spiders. Stroll through the open-air pavilion and see hundreds of ball weavers and their amazing nets around you. Then enter the spider cave to peer into enclosed habitats that are home to various species from tarantulas to jumping spiders. Jack’s nights are back
The ultimate Halloween attraction for Angelenos and has become a staple of the Halloween season in Southern California. A huge area with ornate, larger-than-life pumpkin installations greets visitors as they walk through the path around the ranch, which is steeped in history. Guests can relax with hot cider and seasonal cocktails from the Spookeasy Bar or festive autumn treats while you feast your eyes on the creepy sights. Fri-Sun Event details.
Jazz in the LACMA
The most popular performances on Friday evening are back in a new ticket format for small capacities – Jazz at LACMA Limited Edition! Holton’s hero fundraiser
Holton’s Heroes is back for its first public in-person event raising awareness and resources for children recovering from brain injuries. Dine & Dish with Dawn actress, philanthropist and presenter Dawn McCoy will be the guest speaker. The Polar Express train ride
