Restaurant inspections in Bulloch County


The following are among the catering establishments inspected by the Bulloch County Health Department in December. The department scores on a 100 percentile scale. The kitchens are inspected at least every four months and must display their evaluation forms publicly. The score and selected comments from health inspectors are included in each report. Observed uncovered food in refrigerators and freezers. When you partially cook food, you need to have a cooling and reheating process. Food must be chilled to 70 degrees Fahrenheit within two hours and 41 degrees Fahrenheit within four hours, and food must be reheated to 165 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition, the temperatures must be monitored and documented. Observed shrimp stored in reach-in chiller at 55 degrees F. Scoops of rice in stagnant water. Water must be flowing or maintained at 135 degrees F or above. Inadequate lighting in walk-in cooler; can not see in half of the cooler. Live cockroach in the kitchen. Inspector: Aaron Jump.

Grocers washed their hands when handling raw meat without removing their gloves. Employee drinks without a lid/straw kept on the food prep surface while working with food. Dishwasher does not disinfect dishes. Foodservice workers wear watches while preparing ready-to-eat meals. Rice scoops stored in standing water. If stored in water, it must flow or be maintained at 135 degrees F. Excessive deposits on appliances in the kitchen. Floor drains accumulate in several places in the kitchen. It is recommended to repair immediately and return for inspection tomorrow. Correction until: 03.12.2021. Clean floors, walls, ceilings. Observed dead cockroaches on kitchen shelves and on cleanly stored plates. Observed damaged bars, open window without bars and unsealed roof access hatch allowing bugs to enter. Inspector: Jump.

Observed dirt and debris on knives and utensils hanging from the magnet in the food prep area. Observed containers of white and brown cooked rice stored in walk-in rooms with no labels or date marking. It is recommended that all undated food be discarded. Observed dosage of oven cleaner as a detergent in the dishwasher. Leaking, splashing faucets on the prep sink and leaking drain from the 3 compartment sink draining onto the floor. Repair plumbing. Flour on the floor and cobwebs on the walls observed in the dry storage room and throughout the kitchen. Clean floors, walls, ceilings. Observed unsealed roof access hatch which could allow bugs to enter. Observed dead cockroach on the floor in a dry storage room. Inspector: Jump.

Deposits observed on the floor and in the door jamb area of ​​several intervention coolers. Observed broken drain pipe under the sink that was leaking on the floor and was covered in mold. Uncovered sauce and waffle batter in use observed. Observed juice cup used as a scoop and coming into contact with food (sugar).
