March Madness is about more than brackets.
The NCAA collegiate basketball tournament, which runs through early April, is also about food. And restaurants are upping their game with deals. McDonald’s, Krispy Kreme, Taco Bell and more are offering deals, some of which are or come close to being freebies.
The following offerings are available nationwide at participating locations unless otherwise noted. Some offers may require a mobile app and most are valid while supplies last. Offers may vary by franchise, so check with your nearest location.

Krispy Kreme free donut when you show your brace
Through Sunday (March 27), participating Krispy Kreme stores across the US are giving away a giveaway. Customers who “show their mount – in any contest and in any form (on paper, in an app, etc.) – will receive a free Original Glazed Donut every day.”

Taco Bell Free Nacho Fries through Saturday
Taco Bell is giving away free deals on Nacho Fries Thursday through Saturday with its app and a $1 minimum purchase. Taco Bell Rewards members can receive the app offer once per day for in-store or drive-through orders.
Through Sunday, spend $20 or more before taxes, fees and tips and receive $5 off your order for delivery to participating locations for users who place an order on the Uber Eats or Postmates websites or apps.
McDonald’s March Madness offers
McDonald’s has new offers for March Madness in addition to several ongoing offers on its app and with the MyMcDonald’s Rewards program. Offers and Daily Deals may vary by account and region.
Here are the March Madness specials:
- Thursday: 30 cent baked apple pie
- Sunday: 80 Cent McCchicken
- April 2: 40 Cent 4-Piece Chicken McNuggets
- April 4: $2 Big Mac
Don’t have the app? McDonald’s states on its website that if you download the app and join MyMcDonald’s Rewards by March 31, you’ll get large fries for free. Then after your first purchase you have the choice between Hash Browns, Vanilla Cone, McChicken or a cheeseburger for free.
McDonald’s McDelivery DoorDash Deals
McDonald’s also has Friday-Sunday delivery offers via DoorDash:
Complimentary Sausage McMuffin with Egg: Get a free Sausage Egg McMuffin with a purchase of $20 (during breakfast hours) Friday through Sunday from McDelivery through DoorDash using promo code MCMUFFIN.
Complimentary Crispy Chicken Sandwich: Get a Free Crispy Chicken Sandwich with a purchase of $20 or more (outside of breakfast hours) at McDelivery Friday through Sunday through DoorDash with promo code BASKETBALL.
Wendy’s March Madness offers
Wendy’s has multiple offers on its mobile app for a limited time. The chain says it’s March Madness’s “official breakfast” and “official hamburger.”
Offers include:
$1 Dave’s single: Through April 10, Wendy’s is offering singles for $1 via in-app mobile ordering. The offer is updated daily.
Half breakfast: Get half your entire Wendy’s breakfast purchase when you order in-app with mobile ordering by March 31st. The offer is updated daily.
$3 off orders of $15 or more: Receive $3 off any order of $15 or more through the Wendy’s app through April 10th. The offer is updated daily.
BOGO $1 Premium Chicken Sandwich: This offer is updated weekly. Buy one premium chicken sandwich and get a second one for $1 through April 10th with a mobile offer.
Capriotti’s National Cheese Steak Day
Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop said it was “offering one purchase and receive a FREE half-size cheesesteak on National Cheese Steak Day.”

Domino’s Deal: $3 coupon for takeout orders
For a limited time, Domino’s will give you a $3 “tip” to order your pizza online and pick it up yourself instead of choosing delivery.
Order a takeout by May 22nd and receive a $3 promo code to redeem on a takeout order of $5 or more before tax and tip the following week.
Plus, earn points that can be redeemed for free pizza with the chain’s Piece of the Pie rewards program, which you can sign up for at Dominos.com.
Chuck E. Cheese Spring Deal
Chuck E. Cheese said his springtime Family Fun Pack is available for delivery or to-go through April 24th. For $34.99, you’ll get two large pizzas, unicorn cotton candy, a bag of gifts and a spring activity sheet, and 250 e-tickets to your next visit to Chuck E. Cheese.
